We've made rather a lot of bows over the years.
From individual bows for family celebrations to hundreds of matching bows for large projects, that experience has taught us what makes a bow look beautiful - and, just as importantly, what makes it practical to use.
We understand how different ribbons behave, how proportions change with size, how colours work together and how a bow needs to be constructed so that it arrives looking as it should.
Trends have changed considerably since we made our first door bows, but our approach hasn't: use good materials, pay attention to the details and never send something we'd be disappointed to receive ourselves.
Nearly two decades of bow-making experience goes into every Door Bow we create.

Every Door Bow passes through someone's hands.
The ribbon is measured and cut, the loops are shaped, the tails are positioned and the finished bow is checked before it's carefully packed for its journey to you.
Working by hand also gives us something mass production can't easily offer — choice. We can create bows in different sizes, work with an enormous range of colours and adapt what we make for individual homes, celebrations and business projects.
And because the people making your bow are only a few steps away from the people answering your questions, if something unusual is needed we can simply talk about it.
That's one of the advantages of being small enough to care about an individual order, while having almost two decades of experience behind us.

We think about more than how a bow looks in a photograph. We consider how it will sit on a door, how the loops hold their shape, how the tails fall and how straightforward it will be for you to create the finished look at home.
Your bow arrives carefully prepared, with clear fitting guidance to help you get the best result.

From One Bow to Hundreds
Some mornings we're making a single bow for someone's new front door. On others, the workshop is gradually disappearing beneath an order for hundreds.
We work with individual customers as well as property developers, estate agents, businesses and organisations that need bows for larger projects, launches, handovers and seasonal displays.
The approach is much the same either way.
We plan the materials, make each bow carefully and keep an eye on every detail as the order moves through the workshop. For larger projects, our experience also means we can help with practical considerations such as sizing, colours, packaging, delivery schedules and how the bows will ultimately be used.
And because production happens here with us, we're able to be flexible. If a project is a little unusual, we'd much rather talk it through than try to squeeze it into a standard option on a website.
Whether we're making one bow or five hundred, the one arriving at your door still needs to look beautiful.

Door Bows isn't a brand created in a boardroom. It grew naturally from a family business built around celebrations, creativity and making things for other people.
Today, three generations work alongside one another, combining years of practical experience with new ideas, new technology and the occasional difference of opinion about what should be playing in the workshop.
We're proud that the business has grown, but we're equally proud that it still feels personal.
Orders still have names attached to them. Customer photographs still get passed around the family. Lovely reviews are still celebrated. And when somebody comes back to us years later for another occasion, we notice.
